Glob3trotters reviews Pure Power 11 FM 550W

4.5/5 rating

Glob3trotters has published a review of the Pure Power 11 FM 550W, be quiet!'s mainstream fully modular power supply. The reviewer praised the low noise level of this power supply, as well as the clean aesthetics and ease of use. In this price range, this PSU is highly recommended and therefore earns a 4.5 out of 5 rating.

“Given the nature of this overview, from our findings this PSU performed really well in the noise department, aesthetics and ease of use. The fully modular cables should reach most mid-sized builds and that’s the only complaint here because our testing case is quite large and the PCI-E cables were on the limit. The 120mm fan remained dead silent up to our 60-65% load test. The build quality is solid from the outside and the internals are great for this price range. Overall this unit will bring some nice competition in this segment and is definitely worth a look for most first time builders.”

A positive review !

“All in all there's nothing against the Pure Power 11 FM 550 when it comes to performances and it will perfectly fulfll its duties in silence (...) we have no problem recommending the Pure Power 11 FM (...)”

Element 79 - It's all goooold babe

It's also cheaper than the competition, which earns it the Recommended award.

“In the end, we do feel that the Pure power 11 FM is a solid power supply series. We can't really complain other than nitpicking about a component here and there. We don't though, as it is too marginal to mention. You can't go wrong with it, it has a nice dark design, modular, efficient, and sheer silence. It is a PSU series that is pure gold, pun intended.”

Finally a good direction for AM4

PC Update has published a review of the Pure Rock Slim 2 in their latest print issue. He highlights higher TDP and describes the fan. With praises for memory and PCIe compatibility, and the fixing mecanism, the editor shares some temperature readings under load. A positive review with a gold award.

“There is nothing bad to say about the Pure Rock Slim 2 which comes to replace its predecessor without the least false note.”

PC Update reviews Silent Loop 2 240

Silent but not too much

PC Update published a review of the Silent Loop 2 in its 240mm flavour. Discussing the legacy of Silent Loop in its first iteration, the editor presents the news AiO and shares feedback on the finish. The overall look is discussed with the journalist regretting the fact it looks like any other AiO. RGB is discussed. The setup is found to be easy, performances are good, but the editor finds the pump to be too noisy. The normal operation of the fan is quiet enough, however under load they are noisy too, yet cooling is efficient. The editor advises to look at the 280 or 360mm versions for a more quiet operation.

The Silent Loop 2 240 is an AIO kit that finds its place in the middle of this jungle without really standing out. You won't be disappointed if you are not particularly demanding in terms of noise at rest, because the pump is audible.

Tweakers.net recommends be quiet! cooler

Best choice for 4K video editing system

Tweakers.net has released its May 2021 Best Buy Guide to building the 'perfect' 4K video editing system. They recommend the Pure Rock Slim as their preferred CPU cooler.

“For the cpu cooler, we had to choose between a tower cooler and a top-down cooler. In the spirit of flexibility, we went for the tower option, because it means you'll never get in trouble installing your graphics card. With a maximum power output of 120W, this cooler provides enough breathing room for the Core i5 11400, which can put out exactly that amount of power (for a short duration) if you load all the cores 100%. In the case of an htpc, that scenario will rarely occur.”
